Hi there, when is your surgery? I cant seem to find the date on your blog but all the best for that.

I am having a MedEl CI sometime at the end of May/June, no date yet. Its a opus 2 processor with a soft flex electrode. As I'm in Canada we don't get a choice of implant, but I did chose bordeaux red as the colour. I mean to stand out.

Am enjoying reading your blog, its very informative, thanks

Wow, good questions, those are very vital to the surgery. Tell me how your compressed schedule will turn out.

As much as I'd love to encourage your decision, I really just realized how horrible of an incision this will be. "Once you can keep down the fluids," "glue," "stitches," those are all words I HATE! How can you stand the thought of your person being cut in on. Owie owie owie! You have a stomach a steel! I'm about to throw up just thinking about it, and thinking about my wisdom teeth removal. Ick! Surgery is disgusting.

I really hope there will be no complications with your surgery. Please take lots of care. :) Don't get too queasy, 'cause I know I am.

So.. what kind of herbs did you get? Basil? thyme? My favorite is mint... but that's more than an herb. Right now I'm growing some mint and some veggies. I can't wait to transplant them and have them have a nice cozy home in my new apartment. <3<3

Just wondering, BCBS that you have, is it a private company plan or a federal governement plan? I understand not all BCBS covers C.I., is that correct?

To answer your question, the advantage of the 30mm electrode is to give more low frequency CI hearing. But in your case, youd definately hear low frequencies way better with HAs than CI. Even I would. My audiologist could get me down as good as 10db aided at 250Hz, something no CI is likley to achieve. I do not yet know if I should get a 20mm or 30mm electrode when/if I decide on CI. I do have 75db HL at 250Hz but I hear great with HAs.

Anyway I have some new posts on my blog, id be honored if you read those and comment. :)
