Data data data

I was messing around with Google Docs today and decided to make a Google Docs Form that could let anyone who wanted to share their audiogram and see how it relates to others. Then I started playing with Google Docs charts and came up with a way to display the data. I found lots of limitations, like I had to make the dBs negative to have the scale go from top to bottom instead of bottom to top.

Not sure what my plans for this are, but feel free to fill out the form. :)

Very interesting project! I wanted to let you know that ive added my results. It’s shocking how bad my unaided hearing is but my aided hearing is half decent. When I get any new audiograms, ill share it here :)

Do you know of a source to get generic hearing data – such as, the standard Hz/db of spoken vowels and consonants, general environmental sounds, musical instruments?

I see this pictorially placed on other audiograms, but I would like to have the actual data (numbers) myself to make my own custom audiogram.

If you do know a source, please let me know. Thanks!

I'm a 30-something year old girl originally from upstate NY and now living in central Virginia. My background is in mechanical engineering and I worked full time as an engineer for 8 years. In 2010 I quit my job and started a laser engraving business.

I lost my hearing at age 14 and have been using hearing aids since then. In April 2009 I received my first cochlear implant. That went really well so in December 2009 I got the second. The CIs are what prompted me to start writing publicly - but I try to cover other things as well.
